Leadership
DNA
My Personal leadership journey was inspired
by watching other leaders in action, some
great, some not so great. In my early years at Brooks, my annual performance review given
to me by the Board Chair was against a
criterion of a CEO as an Enterprise Steward.
I loved the totality of accountability for
leading the enterprise as if you owned it for
the long term.

Business is a Team Sport but it differs from many sports in important ways. For a long term builder, there is no finish line in business and so the season never ends. It is about building an enterprise to last than can drive execution excellence mile after mile, season after season. For me this was a quest be become an authentic leader.
"Your leadership 'HOW' matters more than
ever as building a business is a Marathon,
not a Sprint..."
Leading with conviction;
I've built businesses around
these six core leadership
principles
– Jim Weber

Own a niche
Pursue greatness by simultaneously owning a niche, growing, and delivering premium profits, consistently and over time.

Vision without execution is hallucination
Dreams and plans are meaningless if they’re not backed by action. Walk the talk.

Build a moat
Create a distinctive, defendable brand proposition. Getting credit for it from the customer (at full price) is the measure of its strength and essential to sustainable success.

Lead authentically
Focus, curiosity, and trust are foundational to connecting with people. Treat them with respect, integrity, and humility.

Solve for profitability
Engineer it into your business model. If successful, it can create a flywheel of investment to strengthen your moat.

The ultimate moat is a strong culture
A high-performance, customer obsessed Culture is hard to compete with.
